
In the Switzerland of Ohio Local School District, our role is simple: to support our communities by providing our students with the chance to reach their highest levels of potential. We love to see our students thrive, both inside and outside the classroom.
Our district is nestled on the riverfront and back hills of rural Southeastern Ohio, consisting of five schools serving grades K-8; two high schools serving grades 9-12; and a career center serving grades 10-12.
We are officially the largest district geographically in the great state of Ohio, covering an astonishing 546 square miles. Our schools lie in Beallsville, Woodsfield, Graysville, Powhatan, and Hannibal.
For the end of the 2024-2025 school year, our district has 1,998 enrolled students, with the following enrollment at each building:
- Beallsville Elementary School K-6: 175
- Beallsville High School 7-12: 93
- Monroe Central High School: 237
- Powhatan Elementary School: 232
- River Elementary School: 298
- River High School: 178
- Skyvue Elementary School: 259
- Swiss Hills Career Center: 137
